Computers
4 Students (C4S) was created to assist economically
and societally disadvantaged Arlington residents in overcoming
the digital divide. C4S is a small non-profit organization,
strategically located in the Columbia Pike corridor of South
Arlington, which provides computer hardware and software
to low-income individuals and families in Arlington County.
The organization’s approach has been to refurbish donated
hardware and form community partnerships to increase the
capacity of schools and non-profit organizations. To date,
C4S’s work has emphasized the provision of technology hardware
to individuals and families sponsored by other local community
development organizations.
Here's how we work:
We
collect excess hardware/software from business and government
offices
We
receive donations and sponsorships from individuals and
organizations
We
work with partners such as PC
Retro to evaluate, upgrade or repair donated equipment
We
purchase inexpensive hardware/software to assemble a complete,
working computer
We
distribute computers to students, training centers, and
nonprofit organizations
